Lego Maniacs

Seriously, what did my kids do before we had Legos? I hated those little things, they get everywhere, you step on them, I didn't want them in my house... and then we got some for Christmas last year. (Thanks Barb, you always have the best ideas- and you are more experienced at this raising boys thing.) Kade spends at least an hour every day (alone! quietly!!) building elaborate creations, and the leftover ones on the carpet vacuum right up. Hurray!

This is Kade and Zach participating in a cool Lego Mindstorm Robotics 4-H club. You build a cool Lego robot, that looks like Wall-E and then they had software that he hooked it up to and programmed it do tricks and say words. It was so awesome, I have video footage and I can't get it uploaded. So, to be continued...
But here are some of Kade's fun free form creations...

This was the day he built a whole bunch of dinosaurs. This was the T-rex- notice the short little arms, and the jaw piece opened and closed.

Here is the Brontosaurus from dino day, there was also a Dimetredon and a prehistoric rhino.

This was from the day he did Cars. He started with a very cool Mater, and then the next day took it apart and used the wheels to build Lightning McQueen and then this fine creation is the Screamin' Banshee. The Screamin' What?! Hee! Hee!

This was a cool jet of sorts, I can't remember it's key features, but doesn't it look groovy. We get a lot of jets. But we've had 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, sleds, etc. Zach specializes in abstract looking creations that he calls "satellites".
Funny boys! But hurray for boys that are occasionally quiet and busy, too.
