Big fun in a little town

Okay, here are the pictures you've all been waiting for... Today was the Annual Sheep Parade. Get this, every year to celebrate the livestock heritage of our small town they have a sheep parade down main street (like the running of the bulls?) There were said to be over 1000 sheep baa-ing there way down the street, and we got to see it. I've also included some exciting pictures of the parade entries leading up to the grand finale of sheep. We missed the long line of tractors (we had to stop at some yard sales en route), but caught the local FFA and anyone with a horse or trailer that wanted to enter, followed by a long line of sheep camp trailers (20+), followed by local livestock trucks (no livestock or candy on board, mind you), and then the moment we'd all been waiting for SHEEP!!! I went just to take pictures so I could poke fun at the parade on this blog, but it was actually a little exciting to see a big ol' herd of sheep headed our way on main street. Sam wasn't so impressed, but I included his picture because he was so cute sportin' overalls for the first time in honor of the big day. Here are some pictures so you can feel like you were there too... Maybe next year you could join us.

Um yeah, we ran into this this morning when we tried to go to lin's for a donut run! I think they do it because they have to move the sheep through town anyway to get to their winter pasture, so they just make a big day of it! Totally cracked me up.
And Sam is so cute in his overalls!
