Serious Little Man

Our Zach is such a funny little guy. He was telling Kyle something the other day and said, "Dad! I am serious!" All I could think was, he's right, he is serious. Don't get me wrong, he loves to play, and he LOVES to tease, but some things he likes a certain way. Like breakfast... In the morning he wakes up ready for breakfast. I usually wake up to him saying, "Mom, get up it's brettest time!" Then he goes to the kitchen, climbs on the counter, gets his dinosaur bowl from the cupboard, gets a spoon from the drawer, and a packet of instant oatmeal from the other cupboard, and gets the heavy milk gallon from the fridge. This is where he requires assistance, because he doesn't like to spill and won't do the milk by himself. So I enter, groggy eyed, open his oatmeal packet and pour him a cup of milk, and then he pours them all slowly and carefully into his own bowl. If he spills at all, he cannot proceed, he will get a towel and wipe up the milk or pick up the oatmeal strays and get them all into his bowl. And then he can eat, slowly, methodically, and contentedly. Every day the same routine, and the same bowl of delicious, unheated (he doesn't like things hot) instant oatmeal. Yum! He's a funny little man.
