Announcing...

Our new arrival...
Sarah Joy
6 lbs. 6 oz.

Ain't she cute?  We are enjoying her so much.  She has proven very durable.  She survived this...

And she has survived this...

She's enjoyed some firsts...

Her first name change.  Woops, we changed our minds after we left the hospital.  (You shouldn't have to make important decisions like NAMES when doped up on painkillers- seriously!)  My apologies to all her grandparents who think we are weird, and especially to my visiting teacher who didn't get the word about the new name before giving me the monogramed blanket.  Bummer!

Her first time playing with Geo Trax Trains, courtesy of Sam.  Yikes!

Her first time in a dress at 3 days old.  When we got home Kade asked, "when can we put her in a dress?"  So we gave her a bath and then I let him choose the dress and the hair accessory.  He was a little disappointed on my hair bow selection- we're still working on it.  It was all very important to this loving, very protective older brother.  Here is the finished product...

Zach has been our photographer, and has been the most conscientious hand washer.  He NEVER forgets to wash his hands before holding his sister (and it's a fronts and backs, between the fingers, including the wrists hand wash).  He also seems to get super itchy whenever he's holding her- it's the strangest thing.  'Tis the season for his allergies, but I think it's even worse for him because he's trying so hard not to rub his eyes or his nose (cuz then he'd have to wash his hands again).  So when he holds her, he just wiggles and scratches and sniffs- it's the craziest thing to watch.  Could it be a stress response to the baby?  Funny boy.  Enjoy some self photography courtesy of Zach.

Her first time sluffing church.  It was necessary for germ control, really.  But she had a little bath and I couldn't resist dolling her up a little.  We are loving this baby.  She is so tiny and cute, and seems to have a calm disposition (we'll keep our fingers crossed on that).  I am so glad to have her out of me, and we are so  glad to have her as part of our family.

WOWOWOWOWOW!!!!! She is beautiful and I am so proud of the hand washing. I love that you accessorize her hair...my bald babies get a lot of hair bows and I love it when other people join in the fun. I just learned how to make some cute ones so I'll give you the low down if you need it. Good work Jodi and small babies ROCK!! :) she is fabulous.

I loved the survival stories... you make me laugh! :)

Thanks for the pictures of baby Sarah! She is so tiny and sweet. Knowing what my girls looked like in that dress really puts into perspective what a bitty small fry
she is. So cute!!

I love the sweet (and slightly neurotic) brothers too. Four is fun.

Congratulations! It sounds like things have been very exciting so far. I almost feel like I have things under control (and Kaitlyn will be 3 months old on Wednesday). I hope it happens more quickly for you! We'll see you soon.
