Score!

Some things we accomplished while homebound this weekend... So once upon a time, like in September, Zach chose a whole bag of candy at the store for his potty training treats. I didn't want him to have all of them so I hid a whole bowl full so we could use it for Halloween. Well, since then we've had a new baby and I've had 5 months of interrupted sleep. I forgot all about it until I was looking in the cupboard above our fridge and lo and behold... CANDY!!! Not exactly soft, but definitely edible. Hurray! I might not even tell the kids about it.
We broke out the old highchair- disinfected it like crazy, and now Sam has a proud new perch in the kitchen.

Kade's gearing up for the Science Fair on Friday. He wanted to do a project on how guns work, but I disuaded him by explaining that sometimes talking about guns at school makes people nervous. So, ROCKETRY it is! We got our rockets spray painted, and finished with a second coat of glitter spray- Kade loves metallics. We'll keep you posted on the project. Thanks to Uncle Jason for his technical support on Kade's science fair planning.

Being trapped indoors with people coughing and sneezing everywhere was driving Kyle crazy. He kept saying, "Why don't we open some windows for a little while?" and "Why don't we get some nice fresh air?" But it was really cold!! After me begging him to close the windows, AGAIN, Kyle took the boys out to build our first snowman of the season. Kyle said, "This is a pain!" He's right. That's why I didn't offer to take the boys out to build a snowman. But it turned out great. Kade's all business, and snowman making was no exception. He kept coming in and saying things like, "Mom, we're going to need a carrot. Do we have any?" "Where's a scarf, we need a scarf!" and "I'm going to find some rocks, he'll need some buttons."

Oops! This was before the illness/ snow plagued weekend. We got to touch the Cheerios Nascar at our local Wal-Mart. We thought it was pretty cool. We're certainly not into Nascar, but my boys love race cars so this was pretty cool. Speaking of, on the way home from church yesterday Kade asked, "How old is this car, anyway?" Which of course followed with, "Don't you think we should get a NEW one?" Perhaps. I wondered what kind he thought we should get. A mustang, he said. I informed him that a Mustang couldn't accomodate 3 car seats very well (neither does our old Accord, for that matter). He said, well, maybe we could get one that was black with stripes on it. Since we were dreaming, I offered, "How about one with flames on it?" Kade surprised me when he shook his head. "No," he answered, "that would be too cool, someone might steal it." So, stripes it is.

Cabin Fever is the worst! I remember getting it really bad in Cedar too! Glad to see you're surviving! Hope you get to Zion soon. I am jealous about that!

Oh my gosh Kade is hilarious. I love the fact that there is never a dull moment.
