We did it!!!

I am Sam. Sam I am.


Baby Samuel made his grand entrance on Thursday morning, September 25th. He's my new favorite child on account of he was 8 days early (good boy!), only weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. (good boy!), and has a nice small head (good boy!) He has lots of dark hair, a calm disposition, and looked a lot like Zach at first glance. The more I look at him, the more I think he looks the most like Kyle of our boys.

Anyway, we think he's super cute, and the boys are all crazy for him- even Kyle! Our birthing day highlights included a 5am call to Aunt Trisha to come watch over the sleeping boys until Grandma Lee's arrival. Kyle had a phone interview for a new job scheduled at 8am that morning- which he took, but when things moved quicker than we had expected and Kyle was no where to be found, I made a quick desperate phone call, "Kyle, It's go time!" When he got off the phone and checked his messages 5 MINUTES LATER (I called him from my hospital room phone and he hadn't picked up because he didn't recognize the number) he knew he was really in trouble and took off running for labor and delivery. When my doctor got paged by the nurse and came into the hall and saw Kyle running he thought he was in trouble too and he took off. So everyone showed up right on time, feeling refreshed after a quick jog, and ready to get to work. Poor Sam had the umbilical cord wrapped tightly around his neck, and his heart rate had dropped/ disappeared, and we were thankfully able to make a quick delivery. He was a little gray but crying, and after some love and oxygen from the respiratory guy he started to look like a nice, pink baby. Anyway, we love him and we are so glad to have him safely here!
